If you're looking for running cheat commands on your server, you will need a mod. Valheim turns devcommands off on dedicated servers, so god, fly, spawn and the rest won't do anything for you even as an admin. We recommend Server_devcommands by JereKuusela as this will give your admins devcommands which contains a lot more console commands! On a LOW.MS server it's a one click install from the Mods tab (search for it under Browse). Install it on your own client as well as the server: the server copy is optional but unlocks the full set. If you've not put a mod on your server before there's a full guide here: How to Install Mods on Your Valheim Server If you are shopping around, you can rent a Valheim server from us with that Mods tab already included.

One thing to know before you hand devcommands out since Valheim 1.0 added achievements. Iron Gate's 1.0 FAQ says using most devcommands puts a flag on your character and world save that locks them out of achievements, and even hammer mode counts as a temporary cheat. The 1.0.12 hotfix added a devcommand that lets you opt back in afterwards, but if your group cares about achievements, have that conversation first.

The commands in the table below need no mod at all, but they do need you to be an admin first: Valheim adminlist.txt. Beyond those, an admin who types devcommands first also gets the world-key and modifier commands that the server runs on your behalf: setkey, removekey, listkeys, resetkeys, setworldmodifier, setworldpreset, players, skiptime, sleep, restartparty and genloc. The cheat set (god, fly, spawn and friends) stays off on a dedicated server whatever you type.

noportals Turns portals off, but only in single player or a world you host yourself. See below.
lodbias [value] Changes your own draw distance. Nothing to do with the server. See below.

Two of those come with a catch worth knowing about.

noportals is an admin only command, and Valheim treats admin only commands as host only. On a dedicated server you're a client and the server is the host, so the game just replies 'noportals' is not valid in the current context. and nothing happens. It works fine in single player or in a world you're hosting from your own machine.

Turning portals off on a dedicated server is a startup setting rather than something you type in the console. It's a global key called NoPortals, added to the server's command line as -setkey NoPortals. Don't confuse it with the Portals world modifier, which is a different thing entirely: that one governs portal use on a scale of casual, default, hard and veryhard, from carry-anything up to the strictest setting the game labels no portals. The NoPortals key is the unambiguous off switch, and the one to use if you want portals gone for certain. On a LOW.MS server both are on the Manage tab: No Portals in the World Rules group is the global key, and Portals in the World Modifiers group is the carry limit. Save, restart. One warning on No Portals: Valheim writes the world rules into the save itself, so once a world has started with it on, turning it off in the panel won't turn it off in that world.

lodbias catches people out as well. You'll see it listed as a server draw distance setting all over the place, including in older versions of this guide, and it simply isn't one. It sets the LOD bias on whichever machine typed it, so it only ever changes what you see. It won't help your players and it won't change a thing about how the server runs. Type it with no value after it and it'll tell you what yours is currently on.
