Valheim Server Settings Generator

Build the exact launch arguments a Valheim dedicated server expects. Pick a difficulty preset, combat, raids, portals and death penalty, then copy the line straight into your control panel. Free, no sign-up.

Difficulty preset

Iron Gate's bundled presets. Normal is the stock game. A preset sets several modifiers at once, and anything you pick below overrides it.

World modifiers

Leave anything on Default to keep Valheim's normal behaviour. Only the ones you change get written into the line.

World keys

Straight on or off switches. There is no false form, so leaving one unticked simply keeps the default.

Save and backup timings

Optional. Leave these empty unless you have a reason to change them and the defaults apply.

Defaults are a save every 30 minutes, a first backup at 2 hours, then one every 12 hours, keeping 4. These are Valheim's own backups sat on the server, which is a separate thing from a copy held off the machine.

Your settings

Two boxes, because the panel splits them. Copy each one into the matching field.

Preset field

Normal

Modifiers field

Nothing changed yet, so the preset alone decides your world.

On a LOW.MS server both boxes live on the Additional Configuration command line, under Commandline Manager. The prefix on every entry is deliberate: typing just the value is the most common reason a server starts cleanly and then ignores every setting you chose.

No predefined command line offers crossplay and these fields together. Switching to the crossplay line drops your modifiers. If you need both, open a ticket and we will put a custom line on your service.

Valheim has no settings file for difficulty. Every world modifier is a launch argument, which is why changing the raid rate means editing a command line rather than ticking a box. This tool writes that line for you.

Pick a preset, change whatever you want from it, then copy the two fields into your control panel. The values come from Iron Gate's own dedicated server guide, and the preset list matches what our panel actually offers.

Common questions

Where do these go on a LOW.MS server?

Open Commandline Manager and choose the Additional Configuration line. It is the only one carrying the Preset and Modifiers fields. Paste the preset name into Preset and the generated string into Modifiers, then restart the server.

Why does every entry in the output start with a flag?

Because Valheim needs it. Typing raids none instead of the full modifier flag gives you a server that starts perfectly and quietly ignores the setting, which is the single most common mistake we see in tickets.

Can I run crossplay and custom modifiers at the same time?

Not from the predefined lines. Default and Default (With Crossplay) do not carry the Preset or Modifiers fields, and the Additional Configuration line does not carry the crossplay flag. Switching between them silently drops whichever half you left behind. Open a ticket and we will add a custom command line that does both.

Do these change a world I have already played?

Modifiers are read every time the server starts, so yes, they take effect on an existing world as soon as you restart it. The seed and the terrain are fixed when the world is created and nothing here touches those.
