Reset / Change StarRupture Passwords (Management + Join)

StarRupture stores passwords in JSON files in the server directory. This makes password resets quick on LOW.MS.

There are two passwords:

• Server Management password (for Manage Server)
• Player/Join password (for players joining the server)

Files you’ll be deleting

• Password.json → resets the Manage Server (management) password
• PlayerPassword.json → resets the Join (player) password

Deleting these files does not delete your save/world. It only resets the passwords.

Reset steps (LOW.MS)

1. Stop the server in the LOW.MS Control Panel
2. Open File Manager (or FTP)
3. In the server directory, delete:
   • Password.json to reset the management password, and/or
   • PlayerPassword.json to reset the join password
4. Start the server
5. Open StarRupture and go to Manage Server
6. Enter your server IP/port and set the passwords again when prompted

If players still can’t join (after reset)

• Confirm the server is actually running a save:
  • Manage Server → Load/New → Start Game
• Make sure players are using Join Game → Dedicated Server
• If you’re using DSSettings.txt, confirm it loads the correct save
