Following these quick steps you will be able to play your save easily on your 7 Days to Die dedicated server. If you run into any problems, please contact support:

  1. Locate your local 7DTD save game, usually located in %appdata%\Roaming\7 Days to Die\Saves\$NAMEOFYOURWORLD$
  2. If the world was randomly generated, you will need the additional "GeneratedWorlds" folder, found at %appdata%\Roaming\7 Days to Die\GeneratedWorlds. The best way to get these to your service would be to ZIP them. You can do this by highlighting both the GeneratedWorlds (if applicable) and Saves folder, right-clicking for the context menu, hover over "Send to" and press "Compressed (zipped) folder".
  3. Make your way to the "File Manager" on your service page, navigate into the "save" folder, upload your zipped file and then select unzip. Your zip holds the Saves (and GeneratedWorlds) folders, so unzipping it here puts them where the server reads them.
  4. When this process has completed, you should see save\Saves\$MAPNAME$\$NAMEOFWORLD$
  5. Then you're going to want to navigate to "Configuration Files" on your control panel and click "Text Editor" next to myserverconfig.xml.
  6. Find the line <property name="GameWorld" value="..."/> and change the value to the exact name of your map folder, the $MAPNAME$ part of save\Saves\$MAPNAME$\$NAMEOFWORLD$.
  7. Find the line <property name="GameName" value="..."/> and change the value to the exact name of your save folder, the $NAMEOFWORLD$ part of that same path. Capitalisation has to match.
  8. Click "Save", then restart the server so it loads your world.
