SCS Software releases the Iceland map DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 on 10 November 2026. It adds 14 cities and settlements along the Ring Road, single-lane bridges, and new industries, and SCS hasn't announced a release time or a price yet. If you run a Convoy dedicated server, it won't offer Iceland until you give it a fresh pair of server package files exported from a copy of the game that has the DLC installed.
What's in the Iceland DLC
14 cities and settlements on the Ring Road

Iceland is built around the Ring Road, the route that circles the island. SCS says it connects "lively urban areas, quiet settlements, rugged coastlines, and remote corners of the island". Reykjavík and Akureyri are the two cities SCS has named among the 14 destinations, and the gameplay preview from 14 October started in the small east-coast settlement of Seyðisfjörður.
SCS also describes "narrow bridges with single-lane traffic, where drivers must give way to oncoming vehicles", so a convoy crossing one needs to wait its turn rather than pile on in a line.
Waterfalls, glaciers and viewpoints

The landmarks SCS lists are Jökulsárlón, Goðafoss, Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss, Víkurfjara, Geysir and Þingvellir. Several of them are viewpoints: you drive up, trigger it, and a short cutscene flies the camera around the site. SCS's viewpoints post from 26 October also shows the Blue Lagoon on the Reykjanes Peninsula and Stuðlagil Canyon in the east, and says there are more it is keeping back for players to find.
Farms, quarries and a silica factory

For deliveries, the DLC brings "custom-made farms and quarries" and "a distinctive silica factory in Húsavík". SCS hasn't published a full list of cargo or depot types yet.
Northern Lights and real daylight hours

At night, the Northern Lights "may illuminate the landscape" under the right conditions, and daylight hours follow Iceland's real-world timing.
What your server needs to do
A Convoy dedicated server doesn't download DLC. It loads the map, DLC and mod setup from two files, server_packages.sii and server_packages.dat, which you export from your own copy of the game. SCS's dedicated server documentation is explicit: the server "does not require any additional DLC or mod data". So the old files keep working after 10 November, they just won't include Iceland.
- Buy and install the Iceland DLC on your own PC, and load into a profile with the DLCs and mods you want the server to run. The export copies your current setup, mods included.
- Turn on the game console if you haven't already: in
config.cfgin your game's home folder, setuset g_console "1". - Load into the map (the export only works with a map loaded), press
~, and runexport_server_packages. - Find the new
server_packages.siiandserver_packages.datin your game's home folder. - Stop the server, take a copy of its current
server_packagesfiles in case you need to roll back, and upload the new pair to the server's home directory, the same folder that holdsserver_config.sii. - Start the server and check
server.log.txtfor errors before anyone joins.
If SCS ships a game update alongside the DLC, update the server first and export again from the updated game, so the files match the build the server is running.
If you host it yourself, the dedicated server is its own Steam app, 1948160. SteamCMD doesn't update it on its own, so after a game update run:
steamcmd +login anonymous +app_update 1948160 validate +quit
If you'd rather not keep a machine running for it, our Euro Truck Simulator 2 server hosting runs it for you.
What's coming next
- 10 November 2026: Iceland releases on Steam. SCS hasn't given a time of day.
- Update 1.62: in open beta since 22 October, with three DAF XG+ editions, new garage models across the base map and every map DLC, and the Improved Material System for the Iveco S-Way interior. SCS hasn't given a date for the stable release, or said whether Iceland needs it.
FAQ
Do players need to own Iceland to join my server? No. SCS's Convoy FAQ says players "do not need to own any DLC in order to join the Convoy multiplayer mode". Players without Iceland can still join the session, they just "will not be able to see or drive in DLC map areas" they don't own.
Does Iceland wipe my server or players' progress? SCS hasn't announced a wipe or a save change. Progress made in a Convoy session goes back to each player's own profile, and SCS's Convoy FAQ says players can keep or revert it when the session ends.
Do I need Iceland installed on the server itself?
No. The server reads everything it needs from server_packages.sii and server_packages.dat. Only the PC you export from needs the DLC.
Will my mods break? SCS hasn't said anything about mod compatibility for Iceland. The export bakes your active mods into the server files, so if a map mod clashes with the new DLC, export from a profile without it until its author updates it.
What time does Iceland release? SCS has only given the date, 10 November 2026. Watch the SCS blog or the Steam store page on the day.
