Rust Server Not Showing in Community/Modded List

Your server isn't showing in the server list? No problem. We can get that fixed.

Rust servers hosted by LOW.MS are automatically added to the Rust server list, depending on whether they have mods or not. But sometimes, your server might not show up for a few common reasons.

If your server doesn't appear in the Rust server list, you can try these steps to fix the problem:

  1. Update your Rust server: Make sure your Rust game is up to date.

  2. Update Oxide: If you're using Oxide on your server, it needs to be updated whenever Rust releases a new update. Sometimes it takes a few hours for Oxide to release an update. You can update Oxide by following our guide.

  3. Update mods/plugins: If you have any mods or plugins installed on your server, make sure they're all up to date.

  4. Shorten the server name: Sometimes, the server name can be too long or have special characters, which can prevent it from showing up in the Rust server list. Try shortening the server name or using only letters and spaces.

  5. Clear the Steam cache: To do this, access your server files using an FTP program like FileZilla or through the control panel. Go to Files > FTP File Access and open the Steam directory. Delete both the "appcache" and "config" folders.

  6. Wait a few minutes: If you've tried everything and still can't see your server in the list, it might simply take some time to appear. Rust loads a lot of servers, so it can take a few minutes for yours to show up.

If you've followed all these steps and your server still doesn't show up, you can try the following:

  1. Open Steam and click on "View" in the top menu. Then click on "Servers."

  2. In the window that opens, go to the "Favorites" tab.

  3. Click on "Add a server" and enter your server's IP address. Click "Add to Favorites."

  4. Now, when you go back to Rust, you should see your server in the "Favourited" list after clicking refresh.

Keep in mind that Rust can only display a maximum of 5000 servers at a time. So it might take a while for your server to show up, or it might not show at all. Rust prioritizes servers with a lower ping (servers closer to you). If you want to move your server to a location closer to you, you can follow the guide on changing the game server location.

If you still can't see your server on the community list, you can join it directly using other methods explained in our knowledgebase articles.

If none of these solutions work, you can contact our support team by submitting a ticket at: https://billing.low.ms/submitticket.php?step=2&deptid=1. They can help you request a new Rust IP address for your server, which often solves the issue.
