Valheim dedicated servers all receive Hildir's Request by simply updating the server, there is no special installation or config to enable it. It's a free base game update rather than a paid DLC (Iron Gate's own name for it is Hildir's Request), so there is nothing to buy and nothing to activate. Hildir's Request went live on 22 August 2023 in patch 0.217.14 and has been part of the base game ever since, so any server that's up to date already has it, Valheim 1.0 included. If yours is on an older build, update it. That's the whole job.
For LOW.MS Customers simply:
- Log in to the panel and open your server
- Look at the Game updates card on the Overview tab
- Press Update (the server stops and restarts to install it)
We generally advise that you start a new map, as the new content will only spawn into locations that you've not been to before, which for some players, means they dont get any new content. The same rule applies to the Deep North on an existing 1.0 world, and that has its own article.
For non LOW.MS Customers:
- Download SteamCMD if you don't have it already
- Execute this command: "C:\WhereYouInstalledSteamCMD\steamcmd.exe" +force_install_dir "C:\My\Server\FileLocation\valheim" +login "anonymous" +app_update 896660 validate +quit
