How to Join Your StarRupture Server (Players)

This is the “send to your friends” guide for joining a StarRupture dedicated server hosted on LOW.MS.

What you need from the server owner

• Server IP (example: 123.45.67.89)
• Game Port (example: 7777, if needed)
• Player/Join password (only if the server is passworded)

Note: StarRupture has two different passwords.
Players only need the Player/Join password. The Server Management password is for admins using Manage Server.

Join steps (in-game)

1. Open StarRupture
2. Click Join Game
3. Go to the Dedicated Server tab
4. Enter the server address:
   • If the box supports it, use IP:Port (example: 123.45.67.89:7777)
   • If it doesn’t, enter just the IP and connect (some builds assume the default port)
5. Enter the Player/Join password (if set)
6. Click Connect/Join

If it fails (fast checks)

“Connection timed out” / “Can’t connect”

• Make sure the server is Running in the LOW.MS Control Panel
• Confirm you typed the IP correctly (copy/paste avoids mistakes)
• Try again with the other address format (IP only vs IP:Port)
• Ask the owner to restart the server from the panel and wait 60–90 seconds

“Wrong password”

• Make sure you’re using the Join password, not the Management password
• Ask the owner to reset the join password if needed

“Server feels fresh / wrong world”

• The owner likely needs to load the correct save (Manage Server → Load Game → Start Game)
• Or set up DSSettings.txt to auto-load the save after every restart
