Yes. Assetto Corsa has no in-game host option, so every online session anyone has ever raced runs on a separate server application. The question is only whether that server is somebody's PC or a hosted one. A hosted server fixes the car, the track, the session structure, the tyre and fuel rules and the entry list, so every driver turns up to the same event on the same content each week, without depending on one person being awake.

Yes, and most leagues do. The modding scene is the reason this game is still the centre of sim racing a decade on. You upload your car and track content to the server, every driver installs the same content locally, and the entry list points at it. We will support content upload from the panel.

More than people expect. CSP is installed on each driver's machine, but it is not purely client side: a CSP-aware server can send extra configuration to connecting clients, including extra rules for the session, and can require a minimum CSP build before a driver is allowed in. Extended physics features live in the car and track content itself, which is content the server defines. In practice a serious league standardises on a CSP version and lets the server enforce it, which is exactly the sort of thing worth asking a host about.

Grid sizes of around twenty four are typical and comfortable. The hard limit is the track's pit box count, because Kunos' own server config requires the entry count to be no greater than the number of pits, so a small circuit will cap you regardless of what you set. If your league runs traffic or freeroam servers rather than races, note that those are usually built on AssettoServer and routinely go well beyond twenty four.

The original Assetto Corsa is the open modding platform: any car, any track, anything the community builds. Competizione is the official GT World Challenge simulator with a much deeper tyre and weather model, a fixed and licensed car list, and league features like driver swaps built in. Assetto Corsa EVO is the newer third option and is still in early access. Many leagues run more than one. We list all three.
